What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin exfoliating and rejuvenating technique that helps bring back a smoother and youthful appearance of the skin.

Special equipment is used to spray tiny pressurized crystals to the face and later on suctioned to remove the dead outer layer of the skin. It is commonly applied on the face and the neck area.

A lot of people prefer microdermabrasion than other dermatology procedures because it is non-invasive. It’s cheaper than other procedures and the result can be seen right after the treatment. This simple procedure only takes 30 to 45 minutes per treatment and it is usually painless. So the use of anesthesia is not required.

Some simple information about Microdermabrasion:

What is Microdermabrasion?1. Treats mild wrinkles, scars, large pores, acne and age spots.

2. Recovery is fast and the procedure is painless.

3. It can improve the texture and tone of the treated skin.

4. After the treatment, the skin can better absorb moisturisers and ointments.

5. Non-invasive compared to other chemical peeling procedures.

Side effects happen with Microdermabrasion when the equipment used is not sanitized properly and the patient can get an infection.

Also there are times when the crystals can penetrate the unprotected eyes and can cause irritation. And there are instances that the equipment is not adjusted properly that it can cause the fine crystal to puncture the skin.

To reduce the side effects mentioned above, make sure that you seek advice from a professional who is qualified and trained to perform this skin treatment.
