What are free radicals?

Free radicals are unstable molecules. These unstable molecules take advantage of other molecules or compounds so that in return they’ll be stable. Free radicals damage our skin which makes our skin have wrinkles, dryness and so on. Our body normally produces free radicals as part of your immune system to fight off a virus or bacteria. But because of environmental factors like pollution, too much exposure to the sun, smoking, processed foods, etc. unwanted free radicals are formed. To fight this off we need antioxidants to overcome these free radicals.

What are antioxidants?

Antioxidants are molecules that helps impede the formation of free radicals. A great source of antioxidant is Vitamin E. Vitamin E whether applied or consumed helps our body by fixing the damaged cells including skin cells. It also improves skin hydration ward off the signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles.

Eating green leafy vegetables like spinach, mustard greens, Swiss cheese and nuts like Almonds, Hazelnuts and even Avocado are a great source of Vitamin E. And also make sure that your skin care products have Vitamin E to help your skin moisturised and healthy.
